Job Summary:

As a Cloud Database Administrator, you will work closely with other database administrators and systems administrators across the organization to tackle critical problems to prevent or minimize customer outages. You will work on projects, large and small, to propel our team and services by innovating and standardizing to provide quality as well as consistency and sustainability. Qualified candidates will have exposure to a variety of databases on a variety of platforms that support a wide array of products and customers.
What a day in life looks like:
Work with Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL on VMs, in AWS RDS/Aurora as well as OCI managed databases
Work with multiple cloud vendors: AWS, OCI, Azure
Work with AI tools to help improve your understanding, allow experimentation and develop solutions to all sorts of problems and situations
Work with some of the industry leading technologies that monitor, update and alert on our large and diverse infrastructure
Develop and Manage Database processes
Maintain solid database backups
Provide database support for company projects
Support development teams as well as peer groups
Provide performance tuning investigation, expertise and advice
Create and maintain SOP and other documentation
Determine direction for future database architectures
Work with Very Large databases with more than 15+ TB
Review and Manage user sessions, storage, processes, schemas, etc.
Create and use dashboards for alerts, storage trends, query execution times, etc.
Provide data loading and unloading as necessary
Patch database systems manually, with scripts and with enterprise tooling
What you bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
5+ years of experience as a DBA on different versions of Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle databases
Flexibility to accommodate after-hours and weekend client and team member needs.
Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Excellent analytical skills
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent time management
Able to work well within a team
