Position Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator serves as the backbone of the Bone and Mineral Disease patient population, managing a dynamic outpatient workflow that focuses on care coordination rather than the physical strain of floor nursing. Daily responsibilities center heavily on efficient clinical triage and symptom management, utilizing sharp assessment skills to evaluate patient needs over the phone and direct care appropriately.
RN Clinical Nurse Coordinators also manage InBasket, maintaining seamless patient communication via MyChart messages and telephone encounters. Additionally, the role oversees critical administrative-clinical tasks, including prior authorizations, medication refills, and treatment coordination.
This role offers a highly desirable outpatient schedule designed for a sustainable, long-term career without the burnout of traditional shift work:
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Primary Location: Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. Outpatient.
- No Call & No Weekends & No Holidays

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.
Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.
Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.
Performs other duties as assigned.
