Owns the strategic direction, retention, and growth of large enterprise MID and Specialty Pharmacy accounts.
Develops and executes account plans aligned to customer objectives and McKesson Specialty Pharmacy strategy.
Identifies and advances new business opportunities, including:
Expansion of medically integrated dispensing programs.
Growth within Specialty Pharmacy networks, health systems, and large provider organizations.
Penetration of multi-site and multi-specialty enterprise accounts.
Partners closely with Sales/Account Executives to qualify, position, and expand opportunities.
Understands enterprise practice workflows, decision drivers, and financial priorities; translates into actionable ROI‑based strategies.
Drives adoption of core offerings (e.g., MID, GPO programs, software products) while deepening Specialty Pharmacy engagement.
GPO Strategy & Multi‑Specialty Expansion
Owns the internal GPO relationship strategy for assigned accounts.
Partners with GPO leadership and account teams to:
Identify opportunities to expand McKesson presence within multi‑specialty practices.
Align MID and broader McKesson offerings to GPO‑driven growth strategies.
Leverage GPO relationships to unlock new sites, specialties, and service lines.
Acts as a strategic connector between GPO, Sales, and Account teams to drive expansion and value creation.
Customer Support, Service Governance & Issue Resolution
Serves as primary point of accountability for account performance and issue resolution.
Leads triage and resolution of complex issues across internal teams.
Ensures consistent service delivery aligned with contractual expectations.
Establishes and monitors customer feedback and satisfaction metrics.
Provides thought leadership and best practices to improve operational performance.
Financial, Compliance & Credentialing Leadership
Owns visibility into account financial performance (revenue, margin, growth).
Develops and presents business plans, ROI analyses, and growth projections.
Maintains knowledge of contracts (GPO, payer, etc.) and their implications.
Education & Minimum Requirements
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Position Summary
McKesson is seeking a Strategic Account Manager, Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID). The Strategic Account Manager - MID is responsible for strategic account leadership, operational performance, and growth execution across a defined portfolio of large, complex McKesson Specialty Pharmacy and MID accounts. This individual serves as the primary relationship owner and trusted advisor, ensuring successful delivery of MID programs and alignment with enterprise customer goals.
The Strategic Account Manager partners closely with Account Executives, Client Management Specialists, Implementation, Clinical, GPO, and Operations teams to deliver high‑quality service, scalable program adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
