Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct in vivo experiments using rat SCI models
- Conduct microsurgical procedures, cell/scaffold implantation, and animal behavioral / functional evaluations
- Carry out analyses to understand mechanisms of action: e.g. tract tracing, immunofluorescent and histochemical staining and confocal imaging, RNA-seq.
- Data analysis, interpretation of experimental outcomes, and preparation of manuscripts for publication

Requirements
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related discipline
- Published and demonstrated expertise in handling rodents as well as functional and behavioral assessments.
- Published expertise in animal surgery , preferably SCI microsurgery in rodents
- Hands-on experience with tract tracing, tissue sectioning, immunofluorescence, histology, and confocal microscopy
- Experience with western blotting and qRT-PCR is advantageous
- Strong written and oral communication skills for research work
- Highly motivated, well-organized, and capable of independent work and teamwork
