Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site representative for the Owner, overseeing construction of the air train (automated people mover) system including guideways, stations, and systems integration.
- Manage daily construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, design drawings, and airport operational constraints.
- Lead coordination between contractors, design teams (civil, structural, MEP, and systems), airport authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders; resolve field issues in real time.
- Monitor contractor performance, construction quality, and adherence to schedule milestones.
- Enforce QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and Port Authority standards.
- Oversee installation and integration of APM systems (propulsion, signaling, communications, controls).
- Track progress, validate pay applications, and support cost control, claims review, and change management.
- Prepare daily reports, progress updates, and executive summaries for project leadership.
- Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- 10-15+ years of experience in construction management or engineering within the A/E/C industry.
- Direct experience with aviation infrastructure and/or automated people mover (APM), rail, or transit systems required.
- Strong knowledge of construction management practices, contract administration, and systems integration.
- Experience working on large, complex projects in active airport environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with design-build or CM/GC delivery methods and stakeholder-heavy programs.
- Salary $150-200K
