General Description:
Provides bilingual support for students and families. Assists parents with accessing information regarding school procedures and processes. Provides routine clerical and/or instructional assignments for teachers and administrators within established procedures and standard practices. Tasks performed are outlined in oral and written instructions; the employee has some control over work assignments. Contacts are made within and outside the school and may require the handling of sensitive information or dealing tactfully with parents, teachers, and staff. Some judgment is required. Each position will have a specific set of work assignments particular to meeting the needs of the students or department being served.

Essential Job Functions:
Provides bilingual support for students and families.
Assists school office staff and administration with providing welcoming environment
Assists parents with accessing information regarding school procedures and processes, including but limited to, enrollment processes, graduation requirements, conferencing processes, etc.
Helps parents to understand and access school and community resources
Works in collaboration to address barriers to student success
Prepares materials and displays as necessary
Provides clerical assistance as assigned, including making requested calls to parents
Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands :
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal indoor levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.
