Senior Accountant (Japanese Speaking)

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance liaison for Japan-related accounting matters within the APAC team
• Manage Japan statutory reporting, accounting compliance timelines, and financial controls
• Coordinate with external service providers and Japan-based stakeholders on local finance operations
• Review statutory financial information and ensure alignment between IFRS and Japan GAAP reporting
• Support month-end close, APAC reporting cycles, and audit-related activities
• Perform variance analysis and assist in resolving reporting issues across entities
• Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and regional Finance teams on operational matters

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience within a multinational environment
• Strong understanding of IFRS and exposure to Japan GAAP / Japan statutory reporting
• Business-level Japanese (spoken and written) and strong English communication skills
• Experience working with external auditors, tax agents, or outsourced accounting providers
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (CPA / CA preferred)
• Advanced Excel and ERP system exposure
