The Nebraska Public Health Division of DHHS is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Accounting Costs Manager to lead the financial operations of Nebraska's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). In this vital role, you will oversee the design, workflow, and maintenance of cost accounting processes that support accurate financial reporting to federal agencies like the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), ensure audit compliance, and develop management dashboards. Annual funds under management are estimated at $218 million. Job Duties: Supervise accountant and contract resources that support collection, aggregation, and reporting of all RHTP contracts, subaward agreements, and operational costs. Provide up to date information on RHTP fiscal compliance, including progress on obligations, liquidation, and relevant cooperative agreement spending caps. Establish accounting reporting requirements and/or policy for implementation teams under RHTP. In cooperation with the DHHS Data Office, will determine and implement appropriate IT solutions to serve the financial reporting, compliance, and management financial dashboard needs under RHTP. Work in conjunction with the Public Health Finance and Program Integrity Unit Administrator to assess and mitigate risk under RHTP. This position will report to the Public Health Deputy Director of Finance and Operations. Wage: $37.783 to start. $39.673 after the successful completion of original probation. Requirements/Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent plus six years progressively responsible accounting experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field plus three years progressively responsible experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field plus three years progressively responsible experience; or a Master's degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration plus one year of accounting experience.
