Role Overview As an Attack Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on automation, you will maintain and optimize the offensive security environments that enable red team operations. You'll write Python and Bash scripts to automate routine tasks, manage virtualization platforms (Proxmox/ESXi), provision AWS command and control (C2) instances, and ensure our infrastructure remains stable, secure and cost-effective. What should you have: Programming & Scripting Python proficiency for automation and tool development Bash scripting fundamentals for system administration PowerShell knowledge is a plus (for Windows environments) Cloud & Virtualization AWS EC2 instance management and cost optimization awareness Experience with Proxmox virtualization (primary); ESXi/Nutanix exposure helpful Linux system administration (Debian-based systems preferred) Docker container fundamentals for C2 environment support Infrastructure Automation Terraform or Ansible experience for infrastructure provisioning Comfortable writing automation scripts (e.g., AWS Lambda for idle instance cleanup) Understanding of cloud cost management and resource lifecycle Networking Fundamentals DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and virtual IP configuration VLANs and VPN tunnel basics Troubleshooting network connectivity issues Mindset & Approach Comfortable working unsupervised Willingness to learn offensive toolset and methodologies as part of the role We are known as Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, New Jersey, USA in the United States and Canada and MSD everywhere else.
