Class A driver training experience, including classroom and behind-the-wheel
Experience using electronic logging devices and applications
Other Skills / Qualifications
Proficiency using business productivity tools (MS Office suite) necessary to deliver reports, presentations, and training materials
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and presentation
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with client representatives at all levels
Maintains high level of regulatory expertise
Possess valid license and have the ability to operate the type(s) of vehicles used in the training
Ability to comply with the Federal Driver Qualification File requirements
In-depth knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicle regulations
Bi-lingual in English and French strongly preferred for certain client engagements, in applicable geographic areas

As we look to expand our service offerings in Canada, we are seeking to add an Independent Contractor to our Field/Driver Training team who will assist with conducting training for drivers operating commercial motor vehicles between 10,001 - 26,000 pounds. Training consists of classroom instruction, range training, road training, and a road test. This opportunity is for an Independent Contractor only and does not constitute an employment relationship. Independent Contractors must reside in Canada and be legally authorized to perform services within Canada.
To be considered as an Independent Contractor, individuals must:
Operate as an independent safety consulting business (e.g., sole proprietor, incorporated entity, or equivalent)
Provide services to multiple clients and maintain a non-exclusive consulting practice
Supply their own tools, methodologies, instructional materials, and business processes necessary to deliver services
Be responsible for all taxes, insurance, and business-related expenses
Provide their own computer, equipment, and tools necessary to perform services
Maintain appropriate professional liability coverage, as required under the contractual agreement
Travel requirements vary based on client engagements, audit needs, and training delivery, and are defined by project or statement of work.
Type of Services Requested
Conducts classroom training on DOT regulations, safe vehicle operation, and other topics related to the safe and effective operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
Administers road test to evaluate the driver's ability to effectively and safely manage the vehicle in environments they will encounter on the job. Determines final pass/fail on driving skills.
Assists with identifying and obtaining appropriate training locations (classroom, range, and behind-the-wheel), vehicles and other resources necessary for training.
Ensures training materials and other resources are available and operational when needed.
Carries out responsibilities in a fair, ethical, and non-discriminatory manner.
