Discover how Consertus is driving transformative change for our clients, our people, and the communities we serve at www.consertus.com About this Role We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence across our facilities. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations while promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, EQB, local permitting agencies, ISO 14001, etc.)
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Maintain environmental permits, records, and regulatory documentation
• Support waste management, hazardous waste handling, and recycling programs
• Track and report environmental metrics (air emissions, water usage, waste streams, stormwater, etc.)
• Assist with environmental incident investigations and corrective actions
• Coordinate sampling, testing, and monitoring activities with internal teams and external vendors
• Prepare environmental reports, submissions, and compliance documentation
• Support sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Deliver environmental training to employees and contractors
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EHS, Engineering, Operations, and Quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
• 2-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or EHS roles
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and reporting requirements
• Experience with waste management, air/water compliance, or industrial environmental programs
• Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental management systems
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred for roles in Puerto Rico
