About the role

Reporting to the 'Global Deal Desk & Digital Pricing Product Manager", the Commercial Deal Desk & Pricing Lead works within Castrol's Global Marketing department to improve sales & revenues through: Setting prices and making pricing recommendations during strategic customer tenders Crafting and maintaining customer price variation formulas (index-based pricing) Evaluation and performance management of customer pricing Delivery of strategic pricing projects and pricing guidelines Deliver and support pricing related project activities In this role You will Set pricing, evaluate customer offers and deliver pricing guidance to Sales colleagues to support structuring of customer deals / offers. Responsible for carrying out comprehensive analysis on deal models & structures, competitive landscapes, customer willingness to pay reviews & margin evolutions etc. Synthesising commercially sound recommendations from multiple, and often conflicting, inputs for deal structures to optimise Castrol profitability. Responsible for designing price variation formula (index-based pricing) proposals to customers, including scenario modelling to find the optimal index pricing mechanisms. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of customer price variation formula updates via existing digital tools Responsible for price performance management & profitability monitoring. Seeing opportunities to maximise margins while delivering customer insights to Sales colleagues. Responsible for managing relationships with key partners, including but not limited to, global account management, Castrol & global pricing leadership, sales & marketing colleagues. Responsible for developing pricing / PVF processes, guidelines, procedures & operating frameworks, ensuring these are regularly reviewed & updated. Responsible for leading or supporting pricing‑related projects and initiatives with end‑to‑end accountability for problem definition, analytical approach, partner engagement, and delivery of outcomes. Act as the senior pricing representative within cross‑functional project teams, providing direction and raised decision support. Define and continuously improve pricing guidelines, methodologies, PVF standards, and governance frameworks. Ensure consistent adoption of pricing standards across regions, customer segments, and deal types, addressing inconsistencies through guidance and issue. Act as a subject‑matter expert and reference point for pricing standards, supporting capability uplift and knowledge sharing across the organisation. What You will need to be successful University degree or equivalent experience Sophisticated data modelling skills, with proven track record to create and manage sophisticated excel models and commercial data sets to make decisions. Previous commercial, deal-based pricing, or index-based pricing experience is desirable. Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to analyse, interpret & present large volumes of data. You're a dedicated problem solver, with sharp commercial competence & have strong decision-making capabilities. Self-starter, with excellent attention to detail. Clear & effective communication skills, both written & verbal. You'll possess fluent English - both written & verbal. Proven track record to influence, in a cross functional working environment, driving recommendations, upholding policies & delivering results. Highly motivated & results oriented. You work well as part of a team. Lastly, you'll possess well developed prioritization & time planning skills.
