The role sits with EMLs Nominal Insurer portfolio. You will provide expert advice, optimise medication plans, and support recovery outcomes in line with regulatory requirements. The role also involves education stakeholders and operational team members on medication related matters. As the position continues to evolve, it requires someone who is flexible, proactive and committed to refining processes and contributing to continuous improvement. You will hold current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist and bring strong clinical experience, particularly with high-risk medications such as pain management therapies, opioids and medicinal cannabis. Your experience may include community pharmacy, as well as hospital or aged care settings. This is a full-time, max term contract to 30 June 2027 based in the Sydney, Gosford or Newcastle office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week) considered from month three, subject to performance and approval.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management.
- Assess high-risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies.
- Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation.
- Educate injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks.
- Identify the need for and refer to external services like Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations.
- Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices.
- ABOUT YOU
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is essential along with AHPRA registration
- 5 years clinical experience required
- Demonstrated experience in clinical practice
- Well established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice
- An understanding and experience in the personal injury industry, ideally with knowledge of workers compensation legislation would be highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
