This position reports to Head of S&P Global Energy Legal - EMEA. Responsibilities and Impact: You will be responding to internal client inquiries, providing valuable support in the handling of legal matters and in all aspects of the contract process, reviewing contracts, training the commercial organisation on legal and contracting procedures, negotiating and drafting contracts for financial information and analytical products and services and assisting with special projects outside of routine client facing contracting as needed. Strategic, emotionally intelligent thinker with an ability of instilling trust and confidence in cross-functional and cross-divisional team members and stakeholders Primary responsibility for legal negotiation and advice on complex commercial agreements and related matters impacting products and services. Draft, negotiate and assess data rights for a variety of agreements, including but not limited to, complex distribution, channel partner and strategic agreements, customer agreements for products and services, services, data and technology vendor agreements, and marketing agreements Ensure that the Company's intellectual property and general practices are protected, and liability and risk exposure are mitigated Identification, enforcement and training on appropriate policies and procedures, including areas concerning competition law, privacy and other regulatory matters Qualifications/Experience: Fluency in both French and English is essential . Law degree and 5+ years of experience in-house or at a law firm working with in-house clients. In-house experience is a plus. Ability to work independently while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively across functions and departments. Requires a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving and effectively counsel internal clients by providing them with clear, concise and pragmatic advice and creative solutions where necessary to meet their business needs. Strong working knowledge of contract, intellectual property law and an understanding of the international laws of the jurisdictions. This includes protection of copyright and other proprietary rights, data privacy, warranties, indemnification, disclaimer of liability and information reuse provisions.
