As a Field Engineer , your p rimary daily responsibilities of this role includ e , but are not limited to :
Perform field inspections of existing water, sewer, road, and other infrastructure as necessary.
Communication with contractors and subcontractors on private and public projects, as necessary.
Answer technical questions from the construction contractor to clarify the construction contract requirements.
Review work in progress for quantities, quality, and accuracy.
Perform project completion QC Checklists.
Manage and develop project needs summary and coordinate deliveries as needed.
Review and check change order claims by the contractor.
Interpret construction plans, standards, and specifications.
Inspect construction to ensure compliance with contract documents, contract drawings, and specifications.
Observe and document all field activity for conformance with client requirements.
Review plans and specifications of projects to gain familiarity with the projects before inspection.
Perform field observation and document construction activities as directed via laptop, tablet, cell phone and field notebook or sketchpad.
Comply with all applicable safety and environmental requirements, safely conduct work by following security and safety policies and procedures and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required e xperience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum two (2) years of applicable experience in the construction industry.
OR Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Basic knowledge of construction instruments/tools.
Ability to read, understand and interpret spec books, blueprints, and maps.
Able to work individually or as a team.
Ability to learn new field technologies.
Ability to focus on various tasks throughout the day and change focus with short notice.
Computer knowledgeable and able to quickly learn new software.
Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel.
Resourceful, action-oriented, creative, and analytical thinker.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach (with hands and arms), climb, balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, be able to use a telephone and operate a keyboard.
Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
