The Protection Officer I works under the direction of the Protection Supervisor & Manager. The Officer performs functions to protect facilities and personnel from property loss and criminal activity. Provides services and assistance, as outlined by policies and procedures and directed by Management, to make the facility safe for employees, patients and visitors and to meet the expectations of Riverside Health.
Responsibilities
Patrol interior and exterior of the campus to prevent and detect criminal activity. Write traffic warnings and incident reports. Ensure appropriate equipment is in assigned vehicle, and maintain performance of protection vehicles to include cleaning, fluid levels and engine maintenance.
Maintain logs, input work orders into WorxHub, input calls for service in Omnigo, SOPs, complete training modules, fire extinguishers, radios, Genetic, infant security alarms (TOTs), emergency blue lights, WorxHub and equipment.
Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
Prior experience with security in a health care or other setting (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize and accomplish assignments with accuracy and timeliness (work assignments completed by deadlines, receive minimal customer complaints)
Ability to respond with flexibility to changes and adapt to varying work assignments
Ability to communicate reliably and accurately with all members of the team
*Job functions related to vehicle operation/maintenance are only applicable to facilities where RHS vehicles are used. A Valid Driver's License is not required for locations that do not operate vehicles in the performance of job duties (i.e. Doctors', Shore Memorial, & Smithfield Hospital)*
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Crisis Prevention (CPI) - The Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 90 Days (Required)
Control Tactics - A To Z Training Solutions within 1 Year (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 90 Days (Required) and
Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) If CPR is not BLS certification, AED is also required within 90 Days (Required)
Operates company vehicles as essential function of the job
Valid Drivers License (Required)
