Job Description: Position Summary Under the leadership of the Comprehensive Cancer Center director and the department manager/Assistant Director, the Radiation Oncology Clinic Nurse provides nursing assessment, intervention, medication administration, symptom management, education, and direct patient care through the nursing process to the radiation therapy population. The Radiation Oncology Clinic Nurse provides a coordinated, comprehensive plan of patient care to the radiation therapy patient; is responsible for delivering direct nursing care and patient education to the patient population receiving radiation therapy on an outpatient basis; and is responsible for delivering nursing care and patient education on a limited basis specific to radiation oncology needs to the patient population receiving radiation therapy on an inpatient basis. The RN possesses oncology experience, as well as broad general knowledge and skills to competently provide appropriate nursing care and patient education. Other Nursing duties as assigned. The Radiation Oncology Nurse is directly responsible to the department manager/Assistant Director and the Chief Radiation Oncologist.
