This role is a key member of the Marketplace Payments and Financial Services team, leveraging analytics, data science, and AI to deliver data-driven insights and drive operational excellence across payment solutions. The ideal candidate has experience with a broad range of financial products, deep knowledge of payments, credit, and fraud strategies, and a proven ability to develop innovative, data-driven solutions. This highly strategic role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior leaders across Walmart Marketplace. What you'll do... Apply advanced analytics & data science techniques-including anomaly detection, statistical analysis, and pattern recognition-to analyze seller behavior, payment and non-payments related data for achieving operational excellence. Utilize programming skills (Python, SQL) and big data tools to process large, complex datasets, extracting actionable insights that enhance payment efficiency, improve seller experience and reduce risk. Design and implement scalable data pipelines and workflows, collaborating with tech teams to integrate and enrich data from multiple sources, including third parties. Build and maintain real-time dashboards and monitoring systems (using Tableau, Looker, or similar) to track key payment risk metrics, operational KPIs, and trends. Conduct rigorous statistical testing and experimentation (A/B testing, hypothesis testing) to validate risk strategies and optimize processes. Employ AI methods where applicable to automate anomaly detection and pattern identification, improving alert accuracy and minimizing false positives. Work cross-functionally with Partner Operations, Trust & Safety, Product, Engineering, and other teams to translate data science insights into effective payment risk management and enhanced seller experience.
