- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with 16 years of related work; master's degree in chemical engineering with 14 years of related work; PhD in chemical engineering with 8 years of related work experience.
- Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved product releases
- Interact well with diverse groups within function and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators
- Excellent oral & written communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

The Research and Development Process Engineering team is responsible for developing processes that enable delivery of AbbVie's candidate molecules in a dosage form which is intended for product commercialization. We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Science and Engineering Leader based in North Chicago, IL. The R&D Process Engineering group is responsible for enabling drug development by devising fit for purpose manufacturing processes to provide high quality drug substances and drug products for both development studies and clinical supply materials. We are seeking a Material Science and Engineering Leader for solid oral drug product development projects. Individuals should be experienced with drug product process unit operations and material characterization equipment.
