Summary of the Role The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for leading the financial closing, reporting, and compliance processes , ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in alignment with local regulations and group accounting policies. This role takes ownership of key accounting areas, drives audit activities, and ensures robust internal controls. The position acts as a key contributor in improving accounting processes, supporting management decision-making, and enhancing overall finance function effectiveness. Key Functions / Responsibilities Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness with minimal supervision. Take ownership of key accounts, including reviewing reconciliations and adjustments. Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with both group and statutory requirements. Lead or actively coordinate external and internal audit processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and the prompt resolution of audit issues. Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Support the implementation and monitoring of internal control processes to enhance the reliability of financial reporting. Identify and proactively resolve accounting issues, escalating complex matters as appropriate. Drive and support continuous process improvements in accounting operations and reporting efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and address financial requirements. Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and contribute to system or process enhancements, such as IFRS transitions. Education & Experience Minimum Bachelor's Degree in any related field 6-9 years of accounting experience in general ledger (3-5 years) Experienced in global multinational companies (healthcare, life science, medical devices desirable) Strong expertise in financial closing and reporting processes. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards (K-IFRS / IFRS) and internal controls . Ability to independently manage month-end and year-end closing processes. ERP System experience is preferred to have (example: SAP, Concur) Experienced in leading or actively coordinating both external and internal audit processes . Skilled in identifying and resolving accounting issues, including moderately complex cases. Hands-on experience in the preparation and review of financial statements. Understanding of internal controls, with the ability to support initiatives aimed at control improvement. Proven experience in driving process improvements within accounting operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across various functions.
