Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Two years of professional-level finance experience in budgeting, auditing, government finance, or grant accounting Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis Other Requirements Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona Driver's license by the time of hire Must secure a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety Must obtain Maricopa County Certified Agency Procurement Aide (CAPA) certification within two months of hire We Also Value Experience in public sector or non-profit accounting or budgeting environment with specific experience in budgeting, auditing and grants accounting Experience and knowledge of HUD grant programs, to include: HOME Investment Partnership Program Community Development Block Grant Experience and knowledge of Integrated Disbursement & Information System (IDIS) Management of multi-year grant funds Job Contributions Reporting (50%): Assists with the preparation and submission of the HUD Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan, IDIS actives, Program Income reporting, Match reporting and Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) Prepares and presents internal and external monthly financial status reports that include budget to actual and forecasts Performs complex accounting, budgeting, and forecasting functions, including but not limited to resolving complex financial and business issues, completing in-depth financial analysis, and recommending/implementing new work processes, polices, and procedures Ensures accurate and timely accounting, analysis, and reporting of Departmental and Divisional financial information and data; review invoices and reports required by funding agencies Prepares grant expenditure reports, invoices, and cash draws in compliance with County and grant requirements while reconciling the cash draws in accordance with IDIS Conducts
