Pay Range: $20.10 - $26.13 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview Schedules and pre-registers patients for diagnostic tests accurately and efficiently in conformance with applicable guidelines to facilitate quality patient care. Handles a large volume of incoming calls and navigates between multiple systems to schedule various departments. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: One year call center experience assisting patients within a hospital or medical environment required. Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills: Displays strong customer service and communication skills to properly assist patients' needs. Strong attention to detail. Special Training: Working knowledge of medical terminology; CPT and ICD-10. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Ability to multi-task and navigate between systems simultaneously. Ability to handle a large volume of incoming calls. Manages time and works well in a fast-paced environment. Usual Work Day: 8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees? ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Schedules hospital outpatient tests using multiple systems. Pre-registers all patients. Obtains and advises patients of necessary pre-certification and referrals for financial reimbursement. Adheres to departmental procedures for online scheduling and STAT processes. Collaborates with physician offices to obtain updated scripts and compliant diagnosis codes. Collaborates with physician's office to schedule cases while negotiating date and time and avoiding resource conflicts. Gathers complete patient and testing information and enters data accurately into database. Obtains and advises patients of all necessary pre-certification and referrals needed for financial reimbursement. Completes MSP form timely and accurately. Understands and utilizes the necessary software program to determine "medical necessity" prior to scheduling a Medicare patient. Informs all patients of pre-registration process and pre-registers all patients. Acts as a liaison for hospital departments and physician practices. Ensures that all appropriate staff, patients, departments, and external resources are notified of additions, changes, and cancellations. Verifies all authorization are obtained twenty-four hours before date of service. Follows out of network procedures. Adheres to CH attendance policy as well as interdepartmental policies and procedures. Attends all mandatory departmental meetings. Performs all other duties as assigned.
