About the role .
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Merchandise Team in the role of Buyer's Assistant - Builders & Timber.
If you love variety this is for you as no two days will be the same!
As a Buyers Assistant you will have an exciting role reporting to and providing direct support to the National Buyers. You will assist in range reviews and merchandise strategy along with general administration support, processing of advertising material and you will assist with stores and suppliers in liaison with the Buyer.
What's involved.
Support the buyer with admin associated with range management, including product changes, allocations and inventory management
Action cost and retail changes as advised by the Buyer
Monitor competitor activity
Provide support to stores by liaising with suppliers, Operations, Marketing and other stakeholders.
Who we're looking for.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Your strong planning & organisational skills combined with your passion for merchandising will set you above the rest.
You'll need:
Exceptional organisational skills
Proficient with MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Understands the importance of timelines
Has the ability to self-manage and prioritise effectively
Possesses well developed written and verbal communication skills
Ideally you have a relevant tertiary qualification, however not essential and may have experience in store retailing.
You enjoy the challenge of a fast paced environment with many and varied daily activities working with a dynamic team where fun is as much part of the culture as hard work.
