Requirements
Must have a current General Certificate of Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Ontario (CMLTO) and 10 years technical laboratory experience,
Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related clinical field or ART certification or applicable diploma/certificate in Laboratory Quality Management or Laboratory Management
Advanced Blood Bank knowledge and skills preferred.
Must have a minimum three (3) years progressive leadership experience in a hospital setting
Must have experience in all areas of Laboratory including industry standards and protocol
Experience working with senior levels of organizations, professional associations and other governing bodies preferred
Experience working with laboratory automation systems and information technology preferred
Superior leadership, interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills
Excellent customer service and presentation skills
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using information systems and other related technology
Skilled with computer databases as well as with spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, Internet searches and Outlook email
Interest in evaluative research and/or adult education
Experience with EPIC Beaker preferred

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Laboratory Services, the Manager, Laboratory Services, provides leadership in the Laboratory, to facilitate the delivery of quality patient focused care and the provision of a safe working environment for staff. The Laboratory Manager is accountable for effective daily operations as well as for the efficient and effective utilization of approved financial, human and material resources. As a conceptual thinker, the Manager will support the planning and achievement of organizational goals and strategies, as well as assess and implement industry-wide best practices. As a leader with integrity, he/she will be responsible for promoting trust, and bring the best out in staff. The incumbent will be an important resource to Patient Safety, Risk Management and Quality Improvement to meet regulatory, accreditation and hospital standards.
