Description of Work This Vocational Evaluator position is housed in the Elizabeth City VR/IL Unit Office and provides vocational evaluation services primarily to individuals with disabilities served by counselors in the Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Pasquotank, Perquimans area. The selected candidate provides comprehensive vocational evaluation assessments for persons with a range of disabilities, education levels, and work experience to assist with job planning and placement. Job responsibilities include the following: - Administering, scoring, and interpreting an extensive variety of vocational interests, achievements, and psychological tests - Analyzing consumers' medical, psychological, socio-economic, vocational and educational information - Developing a formal evaluation plan for each client - Conducting community-based assessments and making referrals for evaluation services to the consumer and the rehabilitation counselor(s) - Creating written reports outlining vocational aptitudes, interests, and abilities which are foundational to the vocational planning process - Gathering occupational resource information for better service deliverables - Participating in multi-disciplinary teams and committees for exchange of information and planning - Partnering with consumers and their family members, employers, school personnel, and other community agencies/contacts - Performing other duties as assigned Selected applicant needs to have the means to travel as the job requires.
