About the role
The Global Conference Programming Team is responsible for researching, creating, and delivering compelling agendas for 8 to 10 industry leading events around the world, annually. Events range from 200 up to over 100,000 attendees. The complexity and expectations of these events vary, but one constant remains; the successful delivery of these events is critical to the experience of attendees, exhibitors, and speakers alike. As a key player in the GSMA's premium portfolio of global events, the Global Conference Programming Team shapes the narrative and purpose of each event. We are responsible for crafting a clear and engaging storyline that resonates with diverse audiences while curating a lineup of world-class speakers. This ensures that each event not only delivers value but is also positioned as an unmissable opportunity within the industry. The team dynamic varies depending on the event size, ranging from small, tight-knit groups to large teams of 30 to 40 people for large-scale events. Collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we do. This role sits within the Global Conference Programming team and will act as a key bridge between Global Conference Programming and the Technology Marketing team, which leads the curation of GSMA Summits across the MWC event portfolio. The Summit Operations Coordinator will play a central role in supporting the smooth planning and delivery of summit and conference programming across multiple events throughout the year. Working closely with team leads across Technology Marketing, Global Conference Programming, and Production, the role will help facilitate the development of seamless agendas and ensure alignment across all stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include supporting content leads in tracking progress against event timelines and deadlines, reporting on programme and speaker status, managing speaker logistics and communications, overseeing Content Management Systems (CMS) across events, coordinating speaker enquiries, and providing operational support before, during, and after events. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team that delivers high-quality events while maintaining a positive and supportive culture. About You You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating multiple workstreams across several events at the same time. You use good judgement and critical thinking to understand what is being asked, clarify priorities, and identify issues before they become problems. You are confident working with multiple stakeholders (in our case these, similar/analogous experience is fine: across Marketing, Conference Programming, Production, Technology Marketing, and external speakers or partners) You communicate clearly and proactively, keeping people informed on progress, risks, deadlines, and next steps. You are comfortable managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment and can remain calm, practical, and solutions-focused under pressure. You are confident using project management and collaboration tooling to track and manage progress. You have strong data and reporting discipline, with the ability to maintain accurate programme information and turn status updates into clear, useful summaries. You are comfortable challenging constructively, asking clarifying questions, and escalating issues appropriately when timelines, information, or decisions are at risk. You enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and understand the importance of teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude during live event delivery. Experience supporting conferences, summits, speaker logistics, event operations, or content delivery would be beneficial but is not essential if you feel you have the majority of the other skills.
