$126,691.49Job DescriptionBasic Purpose :Typical Functions :Conducts initial and subsequent histories and examinations of new and existing patients, indicating clinical and physical, mental, or psychiatric problems; organizing and presenting data in such a manner that the physician can visualize the clinical problem and determine appropriate diagnostic or therapeutic steps.Makes diagnosis determinations and decisions regarding treatment plan.Plans and carries out a medical care program to meet diagnostic and/or therapeutic objectives.
Prescribes medication for the treatment of the diagnosis, performs routine health checks, such as checking a patient's vital signs, examines specified problem areas; and orders laboratory, radiological, or clinical tests to pathophysiologic processes or as needed.
Makes rounds of infirmary units or wards, examining patients' conditions, reviewing patient charts, and conferring with other patient care personnel.
Evaluates clinical complaints daily on an as needed basis.
Writes consultation requests to medical/surgical clinics as needed.
Review and evaluate consultation reports.
Assists in the planning and coordination of activities performed in an infirmary unit or ward.
Develops and implements facility/unit medical policies and procedure.
Counsels with patient and family on preventive care, medical problems, and use of prescribed treatment of drugs.
Attends treatment team meetings, physician and staff meetings, and assigned committee education conferences.
Assists in staffing activities to include interviewing prospective employees, identifying and recommending training needs for health care provider employees and in determining staffing requirements.
Serves as health administrator in the administrator's absence or a clinical supervisory in a large institution.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies :
Abilities required include the ability to develop therapeutic or treatment plans; apply emergency and first aid measures; and to successfully diagnose and treat patients.
