Three (3) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems
A valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement required within six (6) months from the time of hire
A valid Florida Driver License at the time of hire
Knowledge of current technology in storm water distribution systems and road right of way maintenance practices
Four (4+) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems
Knowledge of safe operation of specialized tools and equipment used in the maintenance storm water conveyance system and road right of way maintenance and repair
Operation of harvesters, airboats, motorboats, excavators, arm mowers, personal computers and mechanical tools used in the utility maintenance industry
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Starting Pay: $22.14 (Step 1)

In this role, you'll be part of a team responsible for stormwater maintenance, pipeline cleaning, condition assessments, and infrastructure inspections that directly protect our community. Every day brings something new - and your work has a visible impact across Sarasota County.
Perform stormwater conveyance system inspections on all county stormwater pipelines, network structures, inlet structures, and appurtenances along road rights-of-way, easements, and properties relating to stormwater maintenance and repairs
Utilize and maintain electronic and computerized CCTV equipment utilized to inspect the conveyance system
Respond to emergency situations as required and leads staff in operations to ensure safety
Troubleshoot and repair electrical components utilized during the CCTV process
Will be NASSCO (National Association of Sanitary Sewer Companies) Certified in PACP (Pipeline Assessment Certification Program), MACP (Manhole Assessment Certification Program) and LACP (Lateral Assessment Certification Program)
Know and practice standard FDOT stormwater standard specifications
Complete and submit work orders relating to all work performed in a professional and timely fashion
Operate specialized equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, arm mowers, vacuum trucks, CCTV trucks, and other related equipment required to maintain and inspect stormwater conveyance systems and road right-of-way maintenance/construction.
Handle customer complaints regarding stormwater systems, including canal and ditch blockages, erosion control, road right-of-way concerns, water quality issues, and stormwater flow
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., * On-Call Required
