Job Description Summary: The Electrician will layout, assemble, install, maintain, rebuild, repair wires and test all electrical equipment and motors, subject to the laws of the National Electrical Code as amended by the Massachusetts Electrical Code. Will repair lighting fixtures, motors, generators, controllers, switches, panel boards, emergency lights, outdoor lights, fire alarm systems, security alarms, intercom systems, annunciator systems, fans and blowers. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities - Understanding and applying blueprints and technical diagrams. - Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools. - Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers and other electrical devices - Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems in homes and businesses. - Adhering to state and local building regulation.s - Completing work orders on time. - Working with other electricians, general contractors, architects and other team members. Skills/Abilities - Exceptional communication skills. - Strong understanding of wiring, circuits and other electrical components. - Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems. - Problem-solving and critical thinking skills. - Effective time management. - Understanding of local and national codes, regulations and safety procedures. - Ability to read blueprints and technical documents. License Requirements A current Massachusetts state electrician license is required. Education High school education or equivalent is required.
