About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) assigning work to subordinates; (2) conducting drills to test readiness; (3) discussing fire hazards and deficiencies; and (4) preparing accident and injury reports. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess: Fire Officer III, Fire Instructor III, Fire Inspector II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, ICS and NIMS Courses 100, 200, 300, and 400, certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M and Emergency Medical Technician, EMT-Basic certification (or higher) from the state of California or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Card indicating a future expiration date.
