About the role

This position will be assigned to the Marketing Office located at JBSA Randolph, but will be required to work at all JBSA locations to incl. JBSA Fort Sam Houston and JBSA Lackland. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hrs./wk., scheduled as needed, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of business operations, policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. Knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures in order to prepare, monitor variances, and revise budgets. Bachelor degree in recreational leadership, parks and recreation management, leisure studies or related field is highly desirable. Experience using Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of business operations, policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: military recreation; morale, welfare, and recreation business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. 2. Skills in written and oral communication techniques to explain, justify, and present ideas and findings on a variety of issues. 3. Ability to make decisions and work effectively under the pressure of timeliness and rigid deadlines. 4.
