The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for tooling and test equipment, electronic equipment, and other hardware systems. They are responsible for providing design input to ensure manufacturing success of new products and existing products. They are also responsible for designing, defining, analyzing and/or testing Asymtek products and modifications to production processes. They coordinate subsystems and integration of total systems. This position works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Role and Responsibilities
Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
May also review vendor capability to support development.
Identifies, analyzes and resolves program or project support deficiencies.
Develops and recommends corrective actions.
May conduct feasibility studies on new and modified designs.
Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems.
May direct support personnel in preparation of detailed design, design testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing.
Performs root cause analysis of defects.
Drives process improvements in-house.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
