Job Summary
Are you the type of person who is passionate about delivering the highest quality product to your customer? Are you excited to champion Vermeer's brand by ensuring Vermeer product meets customers' expectations for superior quality? In this role you will oversee in-process and end-of-line operations to ensure the product conforms to Vermeer standards and specifications. We're looking for a people-focused and process-oriented problem solver who has a keen eye for detail and the ability to drive adherence to Vermeer's standards.
Responsibilities
Gauge conformance to product specifications via in-process and end-of-line inspections.
Document non-conformances and defects, return non-conforming products to suppliers, and request corrective action, as applicable.
Communicate performance to production areas for awareness and improvement.
Execute guided inspection, ship hold, and hold-for-disposition processes.
Coordinate internal inspection and testing.
Collaborate with production and other functional areas to investigate issues and support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
Interact with internal and external suppliers to communicate quality concerns and set expectations.
Requirements
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
Minimum three years of related experience; or one year Vermeer experience including a minimum of one year Quality Technician experience with cross training in at least three areas.
Ability to pay close attention to detail, utilize measurement technology, read blueprints, and interpret standards, print tolerances, and other production specifications in order to accurately evaluate product and meet production needs.
Effective communication and relationship building with both internal and external customers.
Demonstrate a positive impact on production through investigation, problem solving, and coaching others on quality expectations.
Demonstrate the ability to initiate, support, and lead quality improvement activities with documented use of at least three quality tools (e.g., 5-Why, 8D, cause and effect diagram, control chart, histogram, is/is not comparison, scatter diagram, etc.).
Provide documented experience serving on Kaizen events with emphasis on quality improvement goals (i.e., participate in one quality-focused Kaizen OR three productivity-focused events).
