Smelter Electrician

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 3 years journey-level experience as an electrician maintaining heavy industrial machinery with a working knowledge of AC-DC motors and controls, combustion, metering, air conditioning, power distribution, electronics process control computers, welding, conduit and schematics.
• Graduate of an approved apprentice program or technical training beyond high school

The ideal candidate will have expertise in AC-DC motors and controls, combustion, metering, air conditioning, power distribution, electronics process control computers, welding, conduit, and schematics. Key Duties/Challenges Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of smelting equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in high-temperature environments. Read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and maintenance. Perform general electrical maintenance and inspections on transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
