The Materials Analyst supports systems data integrity and inventory accuracy across Minnesota locations. This role is responsible for analyzing materials data, monitoring inventory transactions, supporting PFEP accuracy, and identifying discrepancies between system data and physical inventory. The analyst plays a critical role in root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and enabling data ‑ driven decisions that support stable and scalable materials execution. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS ROLE: Systems Data & Inventory Accuracy Monitor and analyze materials ‑ related system data to ensure alignment between system records and physical inventory Review inventory transactions for accuracy, timing, and completeness Support validation of part setup data, attributes, and consumption logic PFEP Support Maintain and update PFEP (Plan for Every Part) data, including storage locations, replenishment parameters, and usage triggers Identify PFEP gaps or inaccuracies and escalate findings to the Senior Manager Support cross ‑ functional alignment between PFEP data and operational execution Inventory Analytics & Reporting Analyze inventory discrepancies, trends, and aging (DOH) data Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support visibility into inventory health and data integrity Support KPI tracking related to inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and material flow Cycle Counting & Reconciliation Support cycle count planning, execution tracking, and reconciliation activities Investigate count variances and document root cause findings Assist in coordinating inventory adjustments following validation and approval Root Cause & Corrective Action Support Perform data ‑ driven root cause analysis for inventory and system discrepancies Track corrective actions, owners, and due dates to closure Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing variation and data errors Project Support Provide analytical and execution support for inventory reduction and clean ‑ up initiatives Assist with material disposition analysis for obsolete or excess inventory Support space optimization and congestion reduction efforts through data analysis YOU HAVE: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred Ideally 2+ years of experience in inventory analysis, materials management, or supply chain analytics Technical & Analytical Skills Working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory transactions Strong analytical and problem ‑ solving skills with attention to detail Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools; experience with dashboards preferred Ability to interpret data and clearly communicate findings Core Competencies Data accuracy and discipline Structured root cause thinking Organization and follow ‑ through Ability to work cross ‑ functionally in a fast ‑ paced environment WE HAVE: A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
