Within the Innovation team of the Secondary Fresh department in GarΓ°abΓ¦r , we are looking for a Weighing R&D Engineer with a strong focus on standardization, certification, administration, and documentation . You will join a local innovation team of around 10 engineers, mostly mechanical, working at the heart of product development for secondary fresh food processing. Together, you ensure that both existing solutions and new product developments comply with international weighing regulations - from concept all the way to market introduction. π About the Role As Weighing R&D Engineer, you are responsible for the validation, certification, and compliance of weighing-related solutions used in food processing equipment. You play a central role in safeguarding compliance with legal weighing rules, directives, and standards, while supporting innovation and standardization across the product portfolio. You work across the development lifecycle, with a particular focus on certification, documentation, and regulatory approval. In this role, you collaborate closely with colleagues from Innovation, Supply Chain, Sales (including Product Management), Manufacturing, Service, and external notified bodies and regulatory authorities. With your deep understanding of food processing and weighing equipment, you ensure that solutions are compliant, well documented, and certifiable . You act as a key point of reference for certification, documentation, and regulatory questions, and maintain active communication with notified bodies and legal entities. π§ What You'll Do Support R&D projects with a strong focus on certification, compliance, and regulatory approval Contribute your technical expertise to ensure solutions are compliant and ready for industrial use Identify regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with applicable directives and standards Act as the go-to expert for certification, compliance, and legal weighing requirements within the organization Coordinate and manage communication with notified bodies and relevant legal entities Prepare, maintain, and manage certification documentation and technical files Support testing and validation activities to ensure compliance with legal and performance requirements Play a key role in certification, compliance, and standardization, ensuring products meet legal weighing requirements Continuously support improvements to ensure existing equipment remains compliant and up to date Collaborate closely with Innovation, Sales, Service, and Manufacturing. Your input directly supports their success Share your knowledge through clear documentation and guidance, leaving a lasting impact on the product portfolio π οΈ What You Bring The preferred candidate should possess a diverse educational background and/or relevant experience in manufacturing companies, service management, technical roles, process management, and customer support. If you are the right candidate, ideally you are a Mechanical Engineer with a practical/craft background within Weighing solutions with a strong interest in mechanics and electrical systems. Next to this, you recognize yourself in: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology or related field and/or comparable experience and knowledge Flexibility in working hours because the position requires working outside of normal business hours and on short notice Experience with and comfort working in multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage Practical knowledge of materials (e.g. stainless steel, UHMW, nylon, POM), pneumatics, hydraulics, elec trical/electronics (e.g. PLCs) and use of embedded software Knowledge of the Office package including ERP and CAD system Ability to learn and understand the operation of milling machine, lathe, drill press, hand tools, and welding Ability to develop equipment in a logical, methodical, and defined process Attention to detail and critically evaluate equipment performance a must Ability to work in multi-cultural teams as well as directly with customer Ability to work on different projects concurrently Ability to implement quality system principles Understand and ability to follow health and safety procedures both internally and at customer site Good English along with technical communication skills We encourage each of our 12,500+ employees to bring their unique self to work and aim to make everyone feel recognized, valued and free to explore their potential.
