JOB MISSION As a Functional Architect - D365 Sales Order Management, you will design, build, and support global enterprise applications within the Sales Order Management Product Lane. This role delivers value through the planning, design, and implementation of strategic, scalable, and responsive Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) solutions that drive business growth, expand market share, and strengthen brand equity and reputation. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide functional design leadership for D365 F&O implementations and enhancements within the Sales Order Management Product Lane. Partner with business stakeholders, product lane owners, enterprise architects, and IT leadership to define business requirements and translate them into scalable functional and technical solution architectures. Demonstrate and communicate D365 out‑of‑the‑box capabilities to maximize adoption of Microsoft best practices and native platform functionality. Own, define, and deliver functional user stories and features across the full project lifecycle, aligned with New Balance's New Ways of Working framework. Lead and support fit/gap analysis across D365 and integrated systems; mentor junior analysts and architects in user story development and fit/gap execution. Model business and system processes using use cases, workflow diagrams, and data models; assess functional and system impacts of enhancements, upgrades, and patches. Design, configure, evaluate, and implement D365 configurations, extensions, interfaces, and reports that meet or exceed business expectations. Collaborate closely with product owners, project managers, enterprise architects, functional and technical teams, QA, and training partners to ensure successful and timely delivery. Conduct quality and consistency reviews of peer and junior team deliverables, including user stories, fit/gap analyses, configurations, integrations, and business rules. Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues; manage enterprise escalations through established governance tools and leadership engagement. Provide D365 F&O production support, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and enhancements; participate in on‑call production support rotations. Promote a culture of agile delivery, innovation, and customer focus within a collaborative team environment. Contribute to project planning, estimation, and delivery in alignment with approved plans, budgets, and New Balance standards. Coach and guide junior team members on D365 features, implementation approaches, solution design, and support processes. Contribute to team‑wide foundational and infrastructure improvement initiatives. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS: 4+ years of experience implementing or supporting enterprise applications for large, global, multi‑channel retailers, manufacturers; apparel or footwear industry experience preferred. 5+ years of hands‑on experience implementing or enhancing D365 ERP solutions, including at least three full lifecycle implementations. Strong functional configuration expertise within the D365 Sales Order Management domain. Financial accounting experience related to Sales Order Management is a plus. Proven experience designing, evaluating, and implementing D365 extensions (UI, data, and behavioral), integrations, controls, and reporting solutions. Strong conceptual or working knowledge of Azure, Power Platform, Copilot, agentic capabilities, and D365 integration architectures. Experience with Visionet Haute Logic, Visionet PartnerLinQ, 09, e2Open, EDI, and eCommerce platforms are highly desirable. Advanced experience with Azure DevOps and Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies. Deep understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem and retail/manufacturing industry trends.
