One year of experience in the maintenance of buildings and grounds; OR
Six months experience in Class 7524 Institutional Utility Worker; AND

Under general supervision, the 7524 Institution Utility Worker provides support to the 7334 Stationary Engineer and performs a variety of manual and general labor tasks in connection with general building and grounds maintenance, and performs other related duties as required.
Working Conditions: Nature of work involves physical effort in the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment; the ability to lift heavy objects; exposure to working conditions where minor abrasions, bruises, and burns may occur; occasional uncomfortable work inside closed and dirty spaces; exposure to potential uncomfortable weather conditions and traffic conditions; and requires physical stamina to stand, stoop, bend and climb ladders while working in confined spaces, entryways and tight crawl spaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Performs general building maintenance under close supervision
Performs grounds, maintenance, and minor repair work
Unclogs toilets, kitchen and bathroom drains
Replaces and repairs door and window hardware
Changes HVAC filters
Performs general labor work as assigned by the 7334 Stationary Engineer including loading, uploading, moving materials, and running errands for projects
Replaces light bulbs/lamps and cleans fixtures; changes ballasts
Responds quickly to emergency situations and concerns from HSH providers
Patches and paints walls as needed
Assembles and disassembles furniture
Sets up events
Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practices safe work habits
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
