Maintenance Technician - Utilities (12 Hour Nights - Rotating Weekends)

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain utilities equipment.
• Monitor, maintain, and improve the reliability and performance of utility systems.
• Perform work order repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment rebuilds, replacements, and adjustments, including complete documentation.
• Manage and coordinate work performed by contractors.
• Fabricate, modify, and innovate new or existing equipment to improve performance and reliability.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure good housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with team members to plan, analyze, and improve process quality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• skills/qualifications required:

Requirements

• Post‑secondary education or technical trade certification.
• EPA 608 Type II or Type III Refrigerant Handling Certification.
• Boiler Operator certification.
• Industrial Refrigeration (Ammonia) certification.
• Experience with precision maintenance tools and techniques (lubrication, alignments, vibration, ultrasound, etc.).
• working conditions and physical requirements:
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and reaching.
• Exposure to loud noise, dust, dirt, sparks, oil, smoke, and varying indoor/outdoor environments.
• Use of PPE such as hearing protection, hair/beard nets, safety shoes, gloves, hard hat, and safety eyewear.

The role follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, followed by two days off, two days on, and three days off. Team members will work every other weekend , including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. job purpose : The Utilities Technician provides primary support for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of utilities equipment, including chillers, cooling systems, cooling towers, boilers, steam systems, RO/soft water equipment, HVAC, electrical substations, and low- and high-pressure compressed air systems. This role supports an aseptic manufacturing environment and ensures utilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
