Role Overview The Business Information Risk Officer (BIRO) supports the alignment of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance activities with Our Company Animal Health business objectives. This role partners closely with Our Company Animal Health business and technology teams, enterprise stakeholders, and the Information Technology Risk Management & Security (ITRMS) organization to identify and advise on information security and compliance risks across business technologies. The position acts as a trusted subject‑matter expert, translating technical and security risk into clear business context and supporting the implementation of practical, risk‑based controls that enable safe, compliant business operations and innovation within the Our Company Animal Health division. This role focuses on risk identification, business technology risk advisory services, and contribution to enterprise and Our Company Animal Health divisional risk governance. What will you do in this role: Business Partnership & Advisory Serve as a primary business technology risk advisor to Our Company Animal Health teams on assigned programs, products, and technology areas. Translate enterprise security and risk management policies into practical, business‑aligned implementation guidance for Our Company Animal Health. Support exception and deviation discussions by providing risk context, impact analysis, and recommended compensating controls. Participate in Our Company Animal Health business planning forums, product roadmaps, and program governance activities to ensure security and risk considerations are incorporated early ("shift left"). Provide clear, actionable guidance to business and technology stakeholders on embedding security and privacy considerations into projects, digital initiatives, and operational processes. Prepare and present risk observations, themes, and mitigation recommendations to business and IT stakeholders; escalate material risks to ITRMS or divisional leadership as appropriate. Risk Identification & Governance Contribution Identify information security, technology, and compliance risks through ongoing engagement with Our Company Animal Health business and technology teams. Contribute identified risks, observations, and supporting business context to enterprise risk governance processes, including risk forums and reviews. Partner with centralized risk assessment and governance teams by providing environmental insight, architecture context, and implementation considerations. Support risk acceptance, remediation, and escalation discussions by supplying clear, business‑aligned risk narratives and recommendations. Assist with tracking risk themes and trends within the division to inform governance and reporting activities. Technical Risk Management & Cybersecurity Work closely with Enterprise and Our Company Animal Health Value Teams, and solution owners to review system architectures, designs, and operational controls for applications, platforms, and cloud environments. Identify opportunities to strengthen cyber resilience (e.g., prevention, detection, response, recovery) and support the adoption of appropriate security controls. Support incident response activities involving Our Company Animal Health systems, including coordination with the Cyber Fusion Center and participation in root‑cause and lessons‑learned discussions.
