The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Information Systems Security Specialist with responsibility for security planning, coordinating, and overseeing the security during installation, testing, modifying, upgrading, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the network and server hardware and software systems on the installation's Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions and you must meet Facility Operations Service Series 1640 Individual Occupational Requirement. ***Salary Ranges includes local market supplement*** This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. NOTE: You must meet both the Basic Qualifications and Specialized Experience requirements stated below: BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include having knowledge of a wide range of IT system server and integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and project management principles. Knowledge of hardware and software protocols as well as technologies and tools related to electronic attack and defense of such systems. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of IT information security requirements for JWICS for assessment and authorization, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security assessment reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advises on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews. 2. Knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry; and know ledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products and services (including systems software, database software, immediate access storage technology), and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures for all IT systems. 3. Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espio
