Data Engineer, ORBIT (AMZL operational reporting and BI)

Requirements

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• 2+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes experience
• 2+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies experience
• 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling experience
• 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL experience
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
• Experience building large-scale, high-throughput, 24x7 data systems

As a Data Engineer on the Orbit (AMZL operational reporting and BI) team, you will operate in one of the most complex data and agentic solution environments at Amazon. You will focus on organizing and structuring large-scale datasets that power critical business metrics across Last Mile delivery, while enabling AI-driven use cases such as automated insights, RCA generation, and conversational analytics. You will work with modern AWS technologies and evolving AI capabilities (e.g., Bedrock, event-driven architectures, real-time data systems) to build reliable, low-latency, and cost-efficient data solutions.
