Handle and prepare food items in a hygienic and organized manner in compliance with food safety standards. Assemble airline meal trays and carts following specific menu requirement and configuration guidelines, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Follow correct procedures for cold chain handling and temperature control. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring kitchen workstations and equipment are clean, sanitized, and always organized. Support the Production Supervisor and other kitchen staff in the execution of daily production plans. Handle and store food supplies in accordance with food safety standards. Label and date prepared items correctly to ensure food safety and inventory rotation. Assist with unpacking, storing, and organizing incoming deliveries. Comply with all hygiene, health and safety, and airline catering standards. Remove waste and dispose of garbage according to company procedures. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operation within the production area. Contribute to a safe workplace using equipment correctly, wearing appropriate gear, and adhering to all company regulatory safety standards. Perform other kitchen-related tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef, Head Chef, Production Supervisor, Chef de Partie or senior Kitchen staff. Education, Qualifications & Skills Basic Food Safety Certificate preferred (or willing to obtain upon hire). High school diploma or equivalent is an asset. Previous kitchen and food handling experience preferred, especially in high-volume or catering settings. Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices. Consistently delivers high-quality work with a strong focus on detail and quality. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Demonstrates punctuality and reliability with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently, and multitask under pressure. Effective communication skills and teamwork mindset. Ability to work weekends, and public holidays. Familiarity with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, or similar food safety programs). Additional requirements Must adhere to strict food safety and cleanliness standards. Required to wear kitchen uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift moderately heavy items. Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
