About the role

UWJV commenced operation in 2020 and we are forecast to produce up to 10 million tonnes per annum of run of mine (ROM) thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal until 2042. In 2022, UWJV was awarded NSW Mining 'Operation of the Year' Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, the Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Participate in HSEC audits, Safety Interactions, Planned Task Observations and demonstrate Visible Leadership in accordance with the sites HSEC Strategies and Objectives Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios, including fire, natural disasters, medical emergencies, and other critical incidents Lead thorough investigations into safety incidents and near misses to determine root causes.
