POSITION OVERVIEW The CNC Programmer II is responsible for all CNC programs for manufacturing equipment directly impacting on the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division. This position significantly impacts Rexnord's ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is a Non-Exempt hourly technical position. JOB DESCRIPTION (Key Responsibilities) Ability to write programs that will machine complex parts to very close tolerances on multiple axes on various machining centers. Horizontal Machining Centers including Macro, sub program and variable programming knowledge. 4 axis lathes, 5 axis lathes, Y axis lathes, and Vertical Machining Centers large and small "Shop Floor" problem solving. Kaizen participation such as SMDE, VSM, 5s, etc.... Maintain program libraries and revision status of program revisions per NADCAP requirements. Hands-on knowledge of the programs storage and the ability to assist shop associates in uploading and downloading programs KEY COMPETENCIES FOR THE POSITION Bachelor's degree in a technical field desired or 5+ years of manufacturing or industrial technical field, programming CNC equipment is required Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Ability to extract critical data and analyze data to make informed business decisions Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus Excellent computer skills (CAD/CAM, Auto Cad, Shop Cam, Solid Works, Master Cam word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.) Skilled in- G and M code editing, Macro style programming, multi axis function(s) and Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak controllers Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management Self-starter working with little direct supervision Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority DENOTES THE KEY ELEMENTS FOR THIS JOB The above statement reflects the general details considered to describe the principal functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
