The Mumbai High oil field was discovered in February 1974 and started production on May 21, 1976. It accounts for almost 25% of India's production. As the TSP, bp will conduct a comprehensive review of the field's performance and identify improvements as well as implement suitable technological interventions and practices for improving production and recovery from this important national resource. bp will serve in an advisory role to ONGC identifying recovery technologies and practices with the aim of stabilizing production and reversing decline, returning production from this nationally important oilfield to a strong growth path. The successful candidate will report into a bp appointed leader within TSP, and selection into the role will be carried out by the relevant discipline/function leads. Please note that the job title and level of this posting is aligned with ONGC requirements. For any queries please reach out to the Talent Acquisition tag who will be able to redirect your query to the correct discipline lead. As a Geologist in the Mumbai High TSP team, you will play a central technical role in interpreting, integrating, and communicating geological insights that drive reservoir management decisions across the partnership. You will work closely with ONGC counterparts, bp subsurface specialists, and multi disciplinary teams across India and global bp hubs. What you will deliver As an individual technical contributor, working closely with other subsurface disciplines and other business units such as the Wells organisation , you will deliver high-quality geological inputs to progress prioritised business opportunities. You will interpret and integrate core, well-log, seismic, analogue, and dynamic data (pressure, production etc.) to develop and refine the integrated structural, stratigraphic, depositional, rock property and fluid frameworks which underpin integrated subsurface products. Your technical and business skills will enable you to develop appropriate subsurface scenarios, to characterise and communicate subsurface uncertainties and use this knowledge to plan and deliver 'fit for purpose' technical products.
