Depending on assigned area of specialty, responsibilities may include:
MECHANICAL / MACHINE REPAIR- 2nd Shift Install, maintain, and repair complex machinery, machine tools, and powered equipment.
Diagnose and rebuild mechanical components, fabricate or machine replacement parts as needed.
Perform welding, rigging, and equipment alignment.
Execute preventive maintenance and mechanical system upgrades.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS- 1st Shift Plan, install, troubleshoot, and maintain plant electrical systems and components (motors, control panels, power distribution, lighting, etc.) in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
Inspect and maintain switchgear, transformers, and circuit protection systems.
Support machine and process control systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
ELECTRONICS / AUTOMATION Diagnose and repair complex electronic and control systems, including PLCs, CNCs, DNCs, and related equipment.
Install and maintain computer-based and relay logic systems.
Calibrate and maintain test instruments such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
FACILITIES / HVAC SYSTEMS Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, plumbing, and other plant infrastructure systems.
Install and repair piping systems (gas, air, water, steam, and oil).
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, including ASME and insurance standards.
GENERAL DUTIES (For All Skilled Trades) Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and uptime.
Maintain detailed records and documentation of work performed.
Follow safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional teamwork.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program (preferred) , technical/trade school, or equivalent on-the-job training in one or more skilled trades (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, HVAC, or Facilities
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in one or more skilled trade disciplines within a manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Proficient use of tools and test equipment relevant to area of expertise.
Working knowledge of applicable codes (NEC, ASME, OSHA, EPA, etc.) as appropriate to the trade.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Working Conditions
Work performed in a manufacturing or plant environment with exposure to temperature variations, noise, dust, oils, chemicals, and moving machiner y.
Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed.
May require working at heights above six feet using lifts, ladders, or scaffolding.
Must be able to work various shifts or overtime as needed to support production and maintenance needs.
Wage Rate:
The wage progression for your classification will be 80% ($28.44) of the permanent rate for 90 active working days: 100% ($35.54) of permanent rate after that probationary period.
