About the role
The Enterprise Architect team is a strategic partner to Sales and engages with customers and prospects to help them understand how Workdays platform can vastly improve how they manage their people, money, and processes today. This EA role will support both SLED (State, Local, Higher Education) and Healthcare teams in North America as they evaluate and select Workday as their technology partner. As a Senior or Principal Enterprise Architect, you will use your deep technology and security expertise to lead strategic conversations and demonstrate the value of Workday's platform. You will be a trusted advisor who can translate complex technical and risk concepts into clear business outcomes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders across healthcare, higher education, and state and local government organizations. You will lead discussions on Workday's SaaS architecture with a particular emphasis on security, cybersecurity controls, identity and access management, data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity, and data privacy and compliance (including HIPAA and the protection of PHI/PII). You will also articulate how Workday's integration frameworks, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities support secure, compliant, and resilient operations. In turn, you will deliver high-impact presentations that show how Workday's architecture and delivery model help customers strengthen their security posture, reduce risk, and achieve better business outcomes. You will build trusted relationships with CIOs, CISOs, security and compliance leaders, enterprise architects, and business executives. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of enterprise technology and cloud security-either from selling and positioning SaaS solutions or from designing, operating, or governing them. The right candidate delivers compelling presentations and demonstrations with confidence, while actively listening and tailoring the message to the customer's industry, regulatory environment, and security priorities. Responsibilities include: Leading strategic, complex platform and security-focused opportunities, including architecting solution strategies that address cybersecurity, data privacy, HIPAA and PHI protections, and disaster recovery / business continuity requirements. Delivering relevant technical product presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and executive briefings that highlight Workday's secure SaaS architecture, zero-trust principles, encryption, access controls, logging/monitoring, and compliance capabilities across healthcare, higher education, and public sector environments. Identifying and analyzing key systems, dependencies, and integration points within the overall solution landscape, developing solution maps that account for secure data flows, identity management, and protection of regulated data (e.g., PHI and PII).
