As a Computer Operations Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world. There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control, and operate IBM AS400/iSeries systems, applications, and distributed environments in a multi-vendor setup.
• Execute, manage, and monitor batch jobs using schedulers such as Tidal, Robot Scheduler, and Advanced Job Scheduler .
• Perform job control activities including stopping, restarting, and rerunning jobs , and handle dependency management.
• Analyze batch job failures, perform Problem Determination (PD) , and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
• Monitor system consoles (including MAM console ) and handle message queues and alerts effectively.
• Provide first-level support by analyzing system, application, and network issues and resolving or routing them appropriately.
• Perform I/O operations , including tape handling, backup processes, and print/spool management.
• Develop and maintain supporting system management processes , operational procedures, and documentation based on client requirements.

Requirements

• Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 7+ Yrs Experience and Strong knowledge of IBM AS400 / iSeries (IBM i OS) and system operations.
• Hands-on experience with Tidal Batch Scheduler, Robot Scheduler, and Advanced Job Scheduler.
• Ability to stop, restart, and manage batch jobs, and perform troubleshooting for job failures.
• Experience in Problem Determination (PD) and incident analysis in production environments.
• Knowledge of MAM console operations and system monitoring tools.
• Proficiency in handling IBM AS400 message queues, alert management systems, and console operations.
• Understanding of job queues, output queues, subsystems, and spool file management.
• Experience in monitoring multi-vendor systems, networks, and distributed applications.
• Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
• Basic understanding of RPG, COBOL, or DB2/400 database concepts.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Exposure to multi-platform environments including Windows, Linux, and Mainframe systems.
