Commissions & Payroll Accountant

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 2 + years in payroll, commissions or accounting operations.
• Payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state and global environment
• Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
• Goal-oriented personality capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated, organized, and adaptable.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
• Consistently take ownership of assigned tasks and identify areas for improvement.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively across teams
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Experience using Sage Intacct, Rippling, Tipalti, Carta, Salesforce, and Google Sheets preferred but not required.
• Bonus: experience working in the clean technology industry.

Role Summary The Commissions & Payroll Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for overseeing all payroll functions, including regular salary payments, commissions calculations, bonus payments, and to ensure the timely preparation of accurate financial information for internal and external stakeholders. We seek an experienced accounting professional with payroll processing and commissions calculating experience. This is a remote position. The preferred candidate will have the freedom to work from his/her preferred location. Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description). Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons.
